Why Your Workplace Might Be the Best Place to Start Your Money Journey

Money stress doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t care whether you’re a lawyer, a miner, an office admin, or a retail worker—it finds its way in. And when it does, it shows up at work.

Over the years, I’ve run webinars and training sessions in just about every kind of workplace you can imagine—from corporate law firms to mining sites, from retail head offices to local councils. And the one thing I’ve learned? Financial wellbeing belongs everywhere.

Because the truth is, money affects how we show up. If you’re constantly worried about debt, rising costs, or feeling behind, it’s hard to be fully present, let alone perform at your best.

Financial Wellbeing Is Workplace Wellbeing

We talk a lot about mental health at work (and rightly so), but financial stress is a major contributor. It can lead to anxiety, burnout, and even physical health issues. That’s why more employers are starting to see financial education as not just a nice-to-have, but a genuine support that can change lives.

And the best part? When it’s delivered at work—via a webinar, a workshop, or access to resources—it becomes normal. No awkwardness. No judgment. Just practical conversations to help you think differently about your money.

What I’m Hearing in Workplaces Right Now

Right now, I’m running sessions for everyone from junior retail workers to senior legal teams. And no matter who they are, I keep hearing the same kinds of things:

· “I’m constantly stressed about debt—I just don’t know how I’ll ever get ahead.”

· “My family is in conflict over money, and it’s exhausting.”

· “I’ve worked for years, but I still feel like I’ll never be able to afford to retire.”

· “I feel guilty spending anything, even on things I need.”

These are real, emotional issues that affect people’s lives every day—and they deserve space, support, and tools to begin unpacking.

Why This Matters (and What You Can Do)

If your workplace already offers financial education—say yes to it. Show up. Be open. You don’t need to have your finances sorted. You just need a willingness to think differently and start the conversation.

If your workplace doesn’t offer anything yet—ask for it. Financial wellbeing programs don’t need to be complex or expensive. Even a single webinar can help people feel seen, supported, and more in control of their financial story.

You don’t need a finance degree to start changing your money mindset. You just need someone to show you that you’re not alone—and that things can be different.

Everyone Deserves to Feel Financially Strong

We spend so much of our lives working—so isn’t it time we made sure our workplaces are helping us build better financial futures too?

It’s not about being perfect with money. It’s about getting support, asking better questions, and giving yourself the tools to make decisions that work for your life.

Because whether you’re just starting out or planning your retirement, financial wellbeing is part of your whole wellbeing. And you deserve it.
